Governng Bodies

GOVERNING BODIES
The Governing Bodies of Imperial College of Engineering constitute the highest decision-making and policy-forming authority of the institution. Functioning under the aegis of Santoshimata Bahuddeshiy Shaikshnik Sewa Sanstha, the Governing Bodies play a crucial role in providing visionary leadership, strategic direction, and effective governance to ensure the sustained growth and academic excellence of the college.
The Governing Bodies are responsible for safeguarding the vision, mission, and core values of the institution while ensuring that all academic and administrative activities are carried out in accordance with statutory regulations, affiliating university norms, and ethical standards. Through informed decision-making and collective wisdom, they guide the institution in achieving its long-term goals of delivering quality technical education and contributing meaningfully to society.
Comprising eminent educationists, experienced administrators, management representatives, and professionals from industry and allied fields, the Governing Bodies bring diverse perspectives and expertise to institutional governance. Their broad outlook enables the college to remain academically progressive, financially sound, and socially responsible. By maintaining a balance between tradition and innovation, the Governing Bodies ensure that the institution adapts effectively to the evolving landscape of engineering education.
A key function of the Governing Bodies is to frame and approve major policies related to academics, infrastructure development, financial planning, faculty recruitment, and institutional expansion. They periodically review the performance of the institution, monitor academic outcomes, and assess the effectiveness of governance mechanisms. This continuous oversight helps in maintaining transparency, accountability, and quality assurance across all functions of the college.
The Governing Bodies work in close coordination with the Principal and senior administrative leadership, providing guidance and support while respecting academic autonomy. Their role is not limited to supervision alone; they actively encourage innovation in teaching–learning processes, industry collaboration, research initiatives, and student development programs. By fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, the Governing Bodies help the institution remain future-ready and competitive.
Equally important is the Governing Bodies’ commitment to social responsibility and inclusive education. Guided by the values of the parent trust, they emphasize access to quality education for students from diverse, rural, and semi-urban backgrounds. Their decisions reflect a deep sense of responsibility toward community development, ethical governance, and nation-building.
Through strategic leadership, ethical oversight, and unwavering commitment to educational excellence, the Governing Bodies of Imperial College of Engineering serve as the backbone of institutional governance. Their guidance ensures that the college continues to grow as a center of academic excellence, innovation, and professional integrity, nurturing engineers who are skilled, responsible, and prepared to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
